you khow i have watched lots of stuff on rewiring fender pick ups etc etc they miss something fender originally designed his guitars as cheap these pick ups are cheap simple things all the munbo jumbo stuff ! it does not matter . if a guitar player has the talent he could play anything and make it sound good ! this is a con .

I've been a huge fan of your Vintage Hots ever since I first heard them when NYC's 48th St was in full bloom. The guys at the custom shops were raving about them. I've installed them in lots of guitars since then. Q How does your newer Woodstock model compare with the Vintage Hots? I had always viewed V.Hots as being the perfect Hendrix-like pickup, but Hendrix would have played a lot of enamel-wired Fenders from 64 onward. Does the enamel or winding technique on the Woodstocks do anything outside the range of V.Hots?

Sounds good but from my research, the physics is the opposite of what you are explaining: That is, that capacitors act as high pass filters, determining the frequency level below which bass &/or mids are cut...NOT the level above which highs are cut. In addition, the resonant peak frequency is also raised or lowered. So, what our hearing perceives as more highs, is actually less lows and a higher frequency resonant peak (ie: greater volume of low & high presences freguencies...the bands between mids & treble), not actually more treble. Resistance of the pickup coil(s) & the pots act differently.

To expand on what you said: 'back in the day' (i.e. vacuum tube TVs & radios etc.) at electronic trade school the instructors always made a point to explain that solder is there to prevent oxidation and corrosion of an already secure mechanical connection. However, when dealing with modern surface mount devices that is not possible and solder is the only way to secure the connection . . . which is why I sometimes had to re-flow motherboards on laptops with hot processors (or any hot components on PCBs) and poorly designed cooling. Or the laptops were actually sitting on a user's lap and the cooling vents were blocked. Even with the post vacuum tube so called solid-state TVs (actually hybrid cuz they still had picture tubes) I saw a lot of arcing burned out connections with Molex connectors and the like in TV horizontal and vertical (yoke) driver circuits. Same with audio amp power transistor output stages. Even with modern components there are also PCBs in many of the newer 10,000 Megawatt (I exaggerate for effect) hybrid 'tube' amps . . . But not the million-dollar boutique amps. Again I exaggerate for effect . . . but they ain't cheap High production flow soldering was not enough in many cases and you had to sometimes get a bit creative when repairing. I always checked any such connections did a bit of preventative maintenance. I charged for it but informed customers (sometimes after the fact oops) and there were always some assholes that that didn't appreciate it and accused me of padding the bill when in fact I was 'doing them a solid'. I thought that's why they were referred to my shop in the first place. I always figure I have the gear opened up on the bench and really getting intimate with it - so why not spend another 15-30 minutes touching up some problem prone connections while I'm in there. . . . . but I digress . . . Awe hell, since I'm already off on a tangent . . . Do you know how to get a musician to pay for his amp repair before you let him take it with him (vs. waiting till he plays the next gig)? Get the money from his manager (i.e. one of the guys in the band's girlfriend). Do you know how you lose a friend? Charge him a fair (fucking LOW 'friend') price for labor and parts at cost for an ASAP emergency repair he needed done yesterday. So you end up spending a beautiful summer weekend inside your basement doing the work while he's outside partying at the lake . . . . I'm not bitter that's the kind of friend I want to lose. LOL. I haven't owned a repair shop for decades. I only repair stuff mainly for myself but sometimes (as seldom as possible) for family and 'friends' . . . don't even get me started on doing repairs for family . . .

Fralin real 54 strat pups have the most balanced highs and harmonics to real vintage strat pups ive heard to date. I still havent heard a modern built PAF that comes close to the real thing unfortunately. Most can hit vintage tone but lack the harmonics and nuance of a real PAF.

I know this is an old video, but help me out. The push pull pot does what? Does it function as a tone control when down and then when up it bypasses the pickup selector and is just both pickups on - out of phase - and the push pull then becomes a volume control for the bridge pickup so you can blend the sound to avoid having maximum cancellation, which Lindy mentions? If so, is there a schematic on Lindy's site?

Great Video ! 🥰 I really enjoy hearing the History, and journey different Builders have followed . 😊 Whether they're building Pickups, Guitars, Trems, or Hardware . Music is the common denominator of all these Adventures . Whether you're trying to emulate your favorite Artist, or create something of your own . I'm interested in purchasing a Fralin Noiseless P90 for a single Pickup guitar . But I'm not sure if I should get the Regular model, or the Alnico Rod Model ? Unfortunately, Chris Forshage doesn’t specify which one he is using on this Build ? ua-cam.com/video/0gmIMAq--q8/v-deo.htmlsi=sUqw4xamsFmV9QFU Great Tone, but, which Fralin Noiseless P90 Model is it ? 🤔 Keep up the fantastic work ! 👍👍 Cheers ✌️ 🤙 🇨🇦
